Halloween 2020 may be quieter this year but there are still plenty of traditions to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
There are traditions from throughout the years that you could adopt, from pumpkin carving to playing pranks.
Some of the traditions involve apples and we at Dundarave love apples! Did you know we sell our own apple juice and apple inspired jams and chutneys? Check them out at our Farm Shop here – http://farmshop.dundaraveestate.com/. We are taking orders!
Apple traditions to follow this Halloween.
- Bobbing for Apples.
Bobbing for apples is great fun for those with a competitive streak; you can race to see who catches the apple first! And if you aren’t a fan of getting your face wet or dripping water all over the place, hang the apples of a string and have someone hold them up high. This could become more competitive if the holder starts to move their arm!
- Chocolate covered Apples.
Who needs to buy them when everyone can get together to make their own? You could melt chocolate, lay out the sweets and get creative! You could turn it into a competition to see whose is most decorated.
- Making Apple Desserts.
As Halloween coincides with harvest time, there are plenty of apples to create some delicious apple desserts. With options to choose from such as Apple Tart, Apple Crumble, Apple and Cinnamon Cake, it will be hard to pick which one to try first. Also, you could mix in some pennies wrapped in baking paper and see who gets lucky!
There is a lot you could try with apples during your Halloween at Home this year! To make it even more fun, why not dress up, takes loads of pictures with your family and make it a Halloween to remember?
